DOT gallery at OCDI is pleased to announce its second residency project entitled ‘Notations’ by Brian Hunter.
Brian Hunter is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice includes painting, video and installation. In 2016, he won the 18th RBC Canadian Painting Competition. In 2012, Hunter spent one year in residency at the Gwangju Museum of Art in South Korea. Select exhibitions and festivals include Kunsthalle Gwangju in South Korea, the Ourense film festival in Spain, and the Power Plant in Toronto. Hunter graduated from Concordia University in 2007 with a BFA in Studio Arts. This summer, Hunter participated in the Plug In ICA Summer Residency organized by Marco Roso of DIS; as well as a project at the Winnipeg Graffiti gallery bringing youth and police officers together to create art.
DOT Residency invites contemporary artists to spend time at DOT researching the city and generate an installation within DOT a response to the city.
